The best of Youtube #3

This is actually becoming a fairly regular segment on my blog which thrills me no end. In this post (as I have with the others which can be viewed here and here) I will show you several videos that I have watched recently that have made either my favourites or liked playlist on YouTube.

Bradley James & Colin Morgan performing 'You're the Voice' \0/
This is my absolute favourite video of all time. It literally makes me cry because it just optimises their friendship. Even if you're not a fan of them or of the show, this video is guaranteed to crack a smile out of you.

Taylor Swift - 22 (Cover By The Vamps)
I saw The Vamps live when they were supporting McFly on their tour and so I decided after being impressed by them at the show to check out their YouTube channel. This happens to be my favourite along with the video underneath; I think that the songs show off their voices really well and to be honest I think I prefer their versions to the originals. Can't wait for their new album!

Neon Trees - Everybody Talks / Animal Mashup (Cover By The Vamps)

Accent Challenge with Marcus Butler | Zoella
This is one of the funniest videos I have seen in a long, long, long time. The first time I watched it I think I had tears streaming down my face, it is just hilarious. If you're feeling down and need something to have an innocent giggle at, then this is your video.

Imagine Dragons - Demons (Official Music Video)
I don't think I have put a video that is an 'official' video from a 'real band' on these lists before but this video truly couldn't go unmentioned. It is breathtaking, it epitomises the simplicity of how much a band/music/gig can bring a moment of solace to someone who seems completely fine on the outside but on the inside they are harbouring a world of pain: simply brilliant. The song is fantastic as well, but then it is Imagine Dragons so you can't really expect anything less.

17 Rants in 4 Minutes
Hank Green, ladies and gentlemen, need I say anymore? Other than this is the best VlogBrothers video ever made? Nope, okay then.

Lullaby - Luke Conard (Live)
There isn't much to say about this video other than its a really beautiful tune.

and finally
Just because My Drunk Kitchen is hilarious then you add John Green into the equation and you have a truly remarkable video.

and for the bonus video
Because I think that this video is the best video to give to anyone before they meet me.

The Complete Harry Potter Film Music Collection CD review!

I am arguably one of the biggest Harry Potter fans that I know and I'm not sure many would dispute with me there, so it therefore seemed almost like a crime that I did not own a CD with the soundtrack from one of the most iconic franchises of our generation. I decided that the best thing to do what to get a CD that had the most popular and iconic tracks first and then possibly buy others from the individual films, so after stumbling across this CD completely by accident I made the purchase and within a few days it was at my doorstep.
The tracks on the CD are split 8 ways so each film has its own individual section and there is 34 songs in all on two CDs. What's interesting is that when I was listening to it in the car with my mum, she did not know the names of the tracks but for the most part could tell you where each track is played in each film; this just shows how iconic and brilliant these pieces of music really are. They tell the story remarkably well and in my opinion Harry Potter has the best soundtrack in modern day films because it is all completely original and all completely made for specific parts of the film, which helps the watcher feel more connected and invested in the scene.
The Complete Harry Potter Film Music Collection
preformed by The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra

I'm sorry the picture quality is not amazing but if you would like to see a better list of the tracks on the CD click here

All in all my absolute favourite tracks are of course the infamous Hedwig's Theme, Leaving Hogwarts and Lily's Theme (which always makes me cry).
I do not have a least favourite track because this CD is truly a masterpiece only reminiscent to the incredible legacy of the Harry Potter franchise. A must have for all Potter fans.

McFly at the Cardiff Motorpoint Arena!

Yesterday not only did I have my last official day of year eleven (which was amazing) but I went to see McFly!! It was such an incredible day!

James Bourne!

The Vamps

It was absolutely amazing, seriously if you ever get the opportunity to go and see them do it! You will not regret it!

Heres a video that I compiled together, excuse the crappy audio its seems my hand was over the microphone so the fact that you can still here the screams just tells you how loud it was and shocking filming because everyone was jumping and waving their hands about.

*video coming soon*

The best of YouTube #2

Following this post on videos I enjoyed in February, I thought seeing as its two months later almost to the day, that I would update this list on videos I've really enjoyed.

YouTuber Innuendo Bingo With PointlessBlog
- Thatcher Joe
This is literally the funniest thing I have seen in such a long time, I love both of these YouTubers because of their quick wit and sarcasm, but this video genuinely had me laughing for the entirety.

The YouTuber Awards
- TylerOakley
This is another video that had me giggling. If you don't know the majority of the YouTubers that they mention then this may be slightly wasted on you, but if you do know who they are talking about then this is extremely funny (and accurate).

Hallelujah
ChadwSugg Cover

I have known about Chad for a while but only recently checked out his videos, this is by far my favourite of his latest covers. (Also he has just become a dad which is awesome and that video, in which he announces that he is father is very cute, so you should watch that whilst your over there as well.)

Just Keep Breathing
LukeConard and JonD Cover

I really like Luke from his vlogs and I enjoy his music especially when he collabs with others as I feel that his voice compliments others really well. I also found out about We The Kings because of this song and so that is always a plus because the original is already one of my new favourite songs, so thanks Luke!
Just Keep Breathing
We The Kings

this is the original.

Ask Luke! With Chad Sugg
Luke

Another instalment from Luke and Chad, this video was filmed a few months previous hence the Christmas related questions but was just recently posted and this is what made me go and check out Chad because his humour in this is so fantastic!

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST
Corey Gray- Once Again Official Music Video
OfficialCoreyGray
Pretty sure that Corey was on my last YouTube favourite videos, but he is one of my favourite cover artists and so when he released this as an official song, I was not disappointed, it's brilliant.

And a bonus video for all you cat lovers (from again Luke)

As you can probably tell from these two YouTube posts that I like cover music and funny videos from the YouTubers themselves. Right now YouTube is the only website that I am visiting regularly because of these stupid exams because I have to have my daily dose of music and laughter!

McFly- Memory Lane (The Best of McFly) CD REVIEW

I have been a fan of McFly for ages, so when they announced that they releasing their best selling and favourite songs on to one CD last Christmas time, I was extremely happy.

5. Do Ya
6. Lies
7. One for the Radio

9. Transylvania
10. Friday Night
11. Stargirl
12. Don’t Stop Me Now
13. I’ll Be OK
14. All About You
15. Room on the Third Floor
16. Obviously
17. Five Colours in Her Hair
18. Do Watcha
19. Cherry Cola
20. That Girl – original 2003 demo
21. Obviously – demo 2003 demo
22. Memory Lane
All written and co-written by Mcfly with James Bourne Jason Perry, Julian Emery, Daniel Carter, Freddie Mercury, Ben Sargeant.
Favourite songs on the album: The Heart Never Lies, All About You, Five Colours in Her Hair and Obviously- 2003 demo.
Least favourite songs on the album: Party Girl, Friday Night and Do Watcha.

Although the only new song on here is Love is Easy, this album is a must have for all fans of the band. It is great to listen to in the car because the songs are catchy and you always find yourself belting out the songs with your foot frantically tapping along with the beat. Would certainly recommend to anyone who enjoys well written, fun and slightly silly songs written and preformed by an extremely charismatic quartet.

Taylor Swift- Red. REVIEW

My mum recently brought Taylor Swifts album Red. I sort of love and hate Taylor, but even so I thought I would listen to the songs on the album and give you my verdict.

Songs on the album
"State of Grace" written by Taylor Swift
"Red" Written by Taylor Swift
"Treacherous" written by Taylor Swift and Dan Wilson
"I Knew You Were Trouble" written by Taylor Swift, Max Martin and Shellback
"All Too Well" written by Taylor Swift and Liz Rose
"22" written by Taylor Swift, Max Martin and Shellback
"I Almost Do" written by Taylor Swift
"We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" written by Taylor Swift, Max Martin and Shellback
"Stay Stay Stay" written by Taylor Swift
"The Last Time" feat Gary Lightbody written by Taylor Swift, Gary Lightbody and Jacknife Lee
"Holy Ground" written by Taylor Swift
"Sad Beautiful Tragic" written by Taylor Swift
"The Lucky One" written by Taylor Swift
"Everything Has Changed" feat Ed Sheeran written by Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran
"Starlight" written by Taylor Swift
"Begin Again" written by Taylor Swift

Favourite songs on the album: "22", "Holy Ground" and "Everything Has Changed"
Least favourite songs on the album: "Treacherous" and "Sad Beautiful Tragic"

Although this album isn't ground breaking: it's okay. Neither good nor bad, nothing to really scream about. most of the songs are catchy but none are absolutely massive hits that will be around for years to come. I do really admire that Taylor Swift has written or co-written every single song on the album, not many singers can actually admit that they do that and it is something to be really proud about.
*edit* I am actually enjoying it a lot more the second time listening to it, still not the best album in the world but not half bad.

BRIT awards- the winners

To be perfectly honest I didn't actually watch all of it but I saw a bit so I thought I would take a look back at my predictions in this post and see if any were correct!

British Female Solo Artist - Emeli Sande
I predicted that she would win

British Breakthrough - Ben Howard

I thought that Rita Ora would win and although I've never heard him I know he has alot of fans and is praised highly

British Group - Mumford & Sons
I thought that One Direction had this one in the bag but clearly nothing is predictable in the music industry
Best Male Solo Artist - Ben Howard
I predicted Olly Murs but again I know that he is highly praised
Best Live Act - Coldplay
I predicted that Coldplay would win and it would have been a crime had they not!
International Female Solo Artist - Lana Del Rey
I'm surprised Lana won becuase in my opinion I think she is extremely boring

International Group - The Black Keys
I've never heard of this group and I'm rather disappointed that The Script didn't win

Best British Single with Capital FM - Adele, 'Skyfall'
I like Adele so I think this is well deserved and its a pretty good song
International Male Solo artist - Frank Ocean
I dislike Frank Ocean so this category is meh
British Album Of The Year - Emeli Sande, 'Our Version Of Events'
I predicted that this would win Emeli has been on everything this year so it was only clear that she would win
BRITs Global Success - One Direction
I didn't predict anyone would win this but I think that it is deserved they are massive after all

To be honest I don't like the BRITs as I'm not fussed on any of the music nominated and I hardly think it should be allowed to be called the BRITS any more because the majority of the categories are international so what's the point.

BRIT Award Nominations- My opinions

I will highlight the artist or band who I think will win, and tell you my opinions underneath the section.
The full list of nominations for the BRIT Awards 2013 are as follows (Taken from CapitalFM):
Mastercard British Album Of The Year
  • Emeli Sande – 'Our Version Of Events'
  • Mumford & Sons – 'Babel'
  • Alt-J – 'An Awesome Wave'
  • Plan B – 'iLL Manors'
  • Paloma Faith – 'Fall To Grace'
I think Emeli Sande will win, purely because she was on pretty much everything last year and I think its a pretty decent (if overplayed) album.

Best British Single with Capital FM
  • Adele - 'Skyfall'
  • Alex Clare - 'Too Close'
  • Coldplay & Rihanna - 'Princess of China'
  • DJ Fresh feat. Rita Ora - 'Hot Right Now'
  • Emeli Sandé - 'Next To Me'
  • Florence & The Machine - 'Spectrum'
  • James Arthur - 'Impossible'
  • Jessie J - 'Domino'
  • Labrinth Feat. Emeli Sandé – 'Beneath Your Beautiful'
  • Olly Murs feat. Flo Rida 'Troublemaker'
  • Rita Ora feat. Tinie Tempah - 'R.I.P.'
  • Rizzle Kicks - 'Mama Do The Hump'
  • Robbie Williams - 'Candy'
  • Rudimental Feat. John Newman - 'Feel The Love'
  • Stooshe - 'Black Heart'
I think either of these songs could win because they are both really played on Capital and seeing as Capital FM voters are voting I think these could be a good bet.

Best Live Act
  • Coldplay
  • Muse
  • The Rolling Stones
  • The Vaccines
  • Mumford & Sons
Without a doubt these should win, I personally have never seen them live, but from the power of YouTube and just generally seeing parts of their concert on TV it looks unreal to see them live.

British Male Solo Artist
  • Calvin Harris
  • Olly Murs
  • Ben Howard
  • Richard Hawley
  • Plan B
I would like Olly Murs to win, because I think he's worked hard this year and deserves it (plus he has a really nice bum ;-) haha)

British Female Solo Artist
  • Bat For Lashes
  • Amy Winehouse
  • Emeli Sande
  • Paloma Faith
  • Jessie Ware
Again for the reason I stated previously I think she will win.

British Group
  • One Direction
  • Alt-J
  • Muse
  • Mumford & Sons
Directioners are crazy and hardcore voters so you can be pretty much sure that they will win.

British Breakthrough
  • Jessie Ware
  • Jake Bugg
  • Rita Ora
  • Ben Howard
  • Alt-J
She's done really well over here, so I think she will win

International Group
  • Alabama Shakes
  • Fun.
  • The Script
  • The Killers
  • The Black Keys
I love The Script but I wouldn't mind if Fun. won, but I really think that The Script is such an amazing band so they deserve to win.

International Male Solo Artist
  • Bruce Springsteen
  • Michael Buble
  • Frank Ocean
  • Gotye
  • Jack White
The only one who I really know, except Gotye but I really don't want him to win ahah

International Female Solo Artist
  • Taylor Swift
  • Rihanna
  • Alicia Keys
  • Cat Power
  • Lana Del Rey
I want Taylor Swift to win in this category but I have a feeling that Rihanna will win

*Can I just say that although I think these people might win, I don't necessarily want them to, this isn't really the type of music I listen to, but I thought it would be interesting to come back once the awards ceremony is over and see if any of my predictions were right.
