MOST ANTICIPATED RELEASES OF 2015

As it stands these books are from authors that I have either read books from before, part of a series that I am reading and paperback releases. However, throughout the year when people start talking about debut books or authors I have never heard about I get excited and want to read them as well and put them on my wishlist, so perhaps this list will need updating throughout the year, but as of right now here are my most anticipated releases of 2015, in no particular order. (Also I cant believe it is 2015, I feel like 2014 literally flew by)

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas

This is probably my most anticipated book of 2015. I love Sarah J Maas I think she is a brilliant writer and it will also be incredible to have another story whilst we wait for the next Throne of Glass book!

Bloodlines: The Ruby Circle by Richelle Mead

This is the final instalment of the Bloodlines series, I am taking it slow and currently am on the fourth book as I wanted to pace myself so that I can read Silver Shadows next month so I am ready for this book. I love this series I think its incredible, the writing is incredible and Mead has such a fluid writing style. Although on a side note, these books have the worse covers ever, they probably put so many people off from reading it!!

Conspiracy of Blood and Smoke by Anne Blankman

I am so excited for this, the first book was incredible, such a brilliant historical fiction read, it was fast paced, historically accurate with fantastic characters, what else could you need? I hope that we get a similar cover to the UK cover for the first book as I am not a massive fan of this one!

I haven't read the second book in this trilogy because I am waiting for this one to come out so that I don't forget anything, but this is a really interesting dark re-telling of Alice in Wonderland.

Although these books have a few problems I still really enjoy them and cant wait for more instalments and an expansion of the world

I think this is my only debut author on this list but I read about this online and couldn't stop thinking about how good it sounds, so I will certainly be picking this up.

I have every book Riordan has published so of course I have to get this as well. He is such a funny writer and I love that he is so historically accurate and knowledgable about what he writing about whilst still having incredibly realistic and relatable characters. He is always a winner in my books.

Alex Vlahos tweeted me and My sixteenth birthday

Yesterday (14/06) was my birthday and I turned sixteen; so obviously I did what any person who has just turned 16 does and brought my first lottery ticket (fingers crossed, it gets drawn tonight so I may be a millionaire by morning) and signed up for internet banking. Also I am now eligible to go on Jeremy Kyle if you know the need should ever arise. (This is of course always greeted by a very worried look that people think I am being serious. No I can ashore you I'd rather chop my fingers off than go on there. Anyway, I think you have to have no teeth or greasy hair to even be allowed in the first place.) I thought I would show you some of the things I got for my birthday *I am not trying to show off or whatever but I got some really cool things and would like to show them*

I got these two little boxes with a figure of Hedwig and a Time Turner necklace. These are part of a set you can buy because I have a Snitch made by the same company but got it about a year ago now. They are really affordable too which is always a bonus.

I thought this was really cool: its called a Desktop Aquarium and it came in a little box with all of the stuff you see and you just add water. It comes with a little red wand type thing with a magnet that makes it look as though the fish are swimming. This is funny because I have always wanted fish in my room since I was little and so this was my mum's compromise.

I also got a few books and DVDs which is always welcomed. From left to right...

I also got this set of books by Michael Grant and I just thought that they deserved their own picture because the edges of the pages are multicoloured and that excites me very much. (the simple things in life)

So they were my favourite presents that I received, I also have Who-ology as well but there was a problem with the postage but that hasn't arrived yet but once it does I'll probably do a review or something. I also obviously got my Colin Morgan cut out which is standing tall and very gorgeous next to me.

So today, (15/06) Alex Vlahos who you may or may not know is one of my favourite actors and he plays Mordred in Merlin (I am also dying for him to become the Doctor- read why here) was holding a Twitter Q and A to say thank you for the amount of money raised on his Kickstarter page. I obviously joined in and so did my friend Molly and eventually a few attempts later he actually replied to me. 

When I say I was happy, I don't think you understand. I saw it, I screamed, my mum nearly crashed the car because she wondered what was going on and my brother was looking and me as if I was crazy because I was shaking and laughing and crying all at the same time. Its amazing that it literally only took him probably like one minute to write that tweet but he has honestly made my birthday and made me an extremely happy girl. So now all that's left of my day is to feel somewhat guilty about not revising for my maths exam, eat some Colin the Caterpillar cake and play on Sims 3 University, oh and tell everyone who has ears about Alex tweeting me.

New books!

I can only apologise for completely abandoning my blog this past week (reasons for why here) but unless you wanted a rant and worry over my knowing absolutely nothing about either biology, chemistry or physics and my exams are only 11, 17 and 20 days away respectively then I'm sure you will thank me for staying off the blog. Also revising for several hours after a long and arduous day at school completely drains your inspiration for decent blog posts, oh the setbacks of teenage life.

Anyway enough about mundane life; I thought I would share with you a few book purchases I have made in the past few weeks. Although I can't read them yet because of lack of time, they are definitely motivating me and yes, making me very excited to finish my exams so I can read without feeling guilty about not revising.

City of Fallen Angels and City of Lost Souls

Cassandra Clare

Oh so excited to read these after reading the other books in the series it seems almost nasty that I have to hold off from finding out what happens next. I am slightly dubious to how and why Clare has written two other books (and I'm told there is a sixth book on the way) when the third book- City of Glass, finished nicely... I suppose I can expect character death as this doesn't seem like the type of series that is going to let me off lightly and happily.

Susan Cain

I picked this book up on a whim along with the book underneath in Waterstones because they were buy one get one half price and when it comes to books I can't resist a deal like that. It seems like an extremely interesting book which I am sure will have plenty of mystery about it; the thing that attracted me most was the cover; it is completely white even the title which implies simplicity which excites me very much (although I couldn't find a decent picture on the internet). I like the idea of introverts, like myself, not always getting ignored because we aren't the ones who are the centre of attention, which is what this books seems to be about. 

The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry

As I mentioned above I got this in Waterstones, it was in the section where they have the best sellers which if you are stuck for what book to read next, or if you're like me and just like seeing what everyone else is reading then have a look in this section first. This book is very strange and it immediately made me want to read it. It seems like a very dystopian theme in a normal world (if that makes any sense). I am sure that this book will keep me on my toes and enthralled throughout: at least I very much hope so. 

Clockwork Prince and Clockwork Angel

Cassandra Clare

I chose these books because of the author, I thought seeing as I am enjoying the Mortal Instruments series I would try out her other series the Infernal Devices. They follow the same type of theme by the looks of it except it is set in London and in a very different time period. I really hope that these books are as good, if not better, as the Mortal Instruments and I will be just as excited with the characters as I am now.

So for now I have to have them sitting in my bookcase mocking me as I revising completely pointless and irrelevant things that will never help or affect me in life! Fun times.

Colin Morgan in The Tempest

So as you may know (its not as if I don't talk about it enough) I am going to see Colin Morgan performing as Ariel in the Tempest at Shakespeare's Globe in August. I don't think I can quite contain my excitement. I literally cannot remember the last time I was this excited for something; how I am supposed to function enough to do my exams is beyond me. So I thought I would share with you some pictures that The Globe have released in the past few days since opening night on the 23rd of April.

My trip to London in the summer

So back in December I made this post listing all of the things that I was looking forward to in 2013. One of the posts on there was that I was going to London, although at the time of the post I didn't quite realise how excited I am for the trip, and here's why...

I am going to see COLIN MORGAN(!!!!!!) in the Tempest at the Globe Theatre which means that I get to see this face in only a matter of months.

and I can't quite tell you how excited that makes me feel, so much so that I have no idea how I am forming coherent sentences. I am hoping to go on one of the few days that the cast will be staying behind for a Q and A session after the play. 

The main reason we are going is so that we can have a break in the summer before our main holiday to Florida in October, but we decided on London after debating with Cornwall or Devon because I have not been to London since I was much younger and can barely remember it, so we are going to visit the landmarks such as Big Ben, Tower of London, London Eye, Houses of Parliament etc

We are also going to go to Madame Tussauds because I have never been, I'm very excited to get a picture next to the Queen and Barack Obama etc, we are also going to visit the museums because my dad is big on history and loves museums. We are also going back to Leavesden Studios again!

So as you can imagine all of this leaves me to absolutely uncontrollable excitement, bring on June/July as I'm not 100% sure when I am going and if they are the final plans but I do know that we will be going for 3/4 days so its a lot to fit in but I am so excited. Who knew so much excitement could be on my front door?!
